With my training as a classical homeopath at the British School of Homeopathy and a dream of owning my own practice, I immigrated to Canada from the UK in 1993. I found the demand for alternative healing practices was strong and so I opened the Shuswap Homeopathy Clinic in Salmon Arm.
My services were relatively unique in this rural community and the business grew quickly. Over 20 years down the road, I am as passionate about Homeopathy and helping people as I was at the start, inspired by my patients themselves. Personalized, one-on-one care is the foundation of my reputation and a big reason for my repeat business. “My patients feel listened to and cared for and I help them to make the changes they need for healthier living”.
Constantly upgrading my training is important to me and I makes time for professional development, even though time away from the office means less income. “You have to ‘walk the talk’. In any kind of caring profession you have to be strong and healthy both mentally and physically so that you can continue to give to your patients”.
With the recent move to Uptown Askew’s I hope to be able to give back to the community more. “My father used to say that one’s ultimate goal should be to help as many people as possible”. I am passionate about my work and honoured to be able to help people on their path to wellness.”
I discovered that my great-great-great Uncle Charles was a homeopathic physician in England in the 1890’s. So I am happy to be carrying on the family tradition, as it is a passion that runs in the blood!
